Chinese delegation at METU Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries

This spring for the third time, METU has participated in the Looking China project at the invitation of the Academy for International Communication of Chinese Culture (AICCC) and Beijing Normal University (BNU).

Three of our second year Bachelor’s students travelled to Zhuhai for 17 days, selected by the head of our Motion Picture Department as part of an internal competition.

One of the tasks for the students was to make a 10-minute documentary, according to the central slogans of this year's contest: "Moments, Season, Times".

As part of this program, on 29 September, Dr. Rebecca Yang Zhuofan, Executive Director of the Looking China Youth Film Project, arrived at METU Rottenbiller Street campus, with additional guests from the AICCC and professors from Beijing Normal University. Huang Huilin the founder of Looking China also joined the event.

The Dean of the METU Faculty of Arts and Creative Industries, Dr. Zsolt Bátori PhD associate professor, art philosopher, head of the Institute of Art and Design Theory, Dr. Ádám Rozgonyi DLA habil. University Professor, Head of the Television Production BA program, and Diana Groó, DLA, Associate Professor, Head of the Film and Media Specialization, welcomed members of the Chinese delegation.

The artworks of Dániel Bódis and Zsófia Géczi, 3rd year Television Production BA students and Jennifer Zuggo, 3rd year Visual Representation, Film and Media Specialisation student were presented to the guests. After the screening, a group discussion took place with the participants.

Together with our Chinese partner, we have reaffirmed our commitment to continue our professional relationship at both student and teacher levels.
