Discussion on Activism and Documentary

FinnAgora and METU Concept Agency by Budapest Metropolitan University are organizing a discussion with the theme “Activism and Documentary” on Friday the 17th of February at 16.00-17.30. The discussion will take place at Toldi Mozi in the Big Hall. 

The discussion will be in English. 

After the discussion the documentary film “Just Animals” will be screened at 18:00. If you want to stay and watch the film tickets can be purchased from here.  

After the film “Just Animals” the directors of the film Saila Kivelä and Vesa Kuosmanen, who are also attending the discussion, will answer questions about the film. 

It is free to attend the discussion but you must register your attendance through the following form. 

The discussion will be moderated by Zsófia Géczi, who is a former student of Budapest Metropolitan Univeristy. 

The participants for the discussion will be: 

Saila Kivelä 
Saila Kivelä is a Finnish documentary filmmaker. Her first film “Just Animals'' will be screened during Finn Filmnapok on Friday the 17th at 18:00. She began documenting the film in 2011 during her legal trial where she was accused of illegally filming animal farms. 

Vesa Kuosmanen 
Vesa Kuosmanen is a Finnish film director and screenwriter. He graduated from the Skillset Screen Academy Wales in 2009. He has directed a feature film “Night Goes Long” and various short films. Together with Saila Kivelä he has directed the documentary film “Just Animals”. 

Erika Kapronczai 
Erika Kapronczai is a Hungarian director and writer known for the online dream collection “Dreampire”, the feature films “Well Under the Sun” and “8”. Her newest film “KIM” about the short and tragic life of the Belgian-Hungarian artist Kim Corbisier was premiered at VERZIÓ International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival in 2022. Erika is a teacher at Metropolitan University.
