Within the framework of  METU Sport , our university participated in the PUBG e-sports championship, where the team came in first place. The grand prize, which was a Lenovo Legion Y540 laptop, was offered as a prize to the students of METU by the winning team.

The main organizer of the competition was the E-sports department of the Honvéd Sports Association, they contacted our colleague Ádám Olgyay, who is leading the METU Sport project at the university. We have been in a partnership with the sports association before, they have offered our students discounted e-sports opportunities since the previous semester.

                                                 

The Student Union also took part in the organization of the championship at our university, mainly Szabolcs Horváth, 
the international rapporteur of the SU, and the team captain, Máté Kovács, who organized and coordinated the team from match to match.

The competition was called Diploma Royale, ie the PUBG Battle of Universities, and 4 universities competed against each other: 
Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Óbuda University, University of Pécs and Budapest Metropolitan University.

The competition took place in a special way of PUBG, the Platoon, where two teams of at least 20 people competed in each round. 
The race was streamed by one of Hungary's most popular streamers, Jonesy, on Twtich . The tournament consisted of four rounds,      
which took place from May 6 to 27. The aim of the competition was to create a community experience for university students during 
Even the coronavirus situation. The competition was sponsored by Lenovo, a committed supporter of the domestic e-sports community. 
 

The team captain's report:

In the end, the METU team got the most points, thus won the first prize in the competition. 
The team offered the Legion Lenovo Y540 laptop to the METU student community, 
so it is now included in the University's Rental system,     so anyone can rent it in the future. In Addition,
