But what is it like to be a student of this major at METU in reality?

Read the thoughts and first-hand experiences of our student, Viktoriia, to get an exclusive insight into our Commerce and Marketing BSc program!

What can you learn on the Commerce and Marketing program?

Marketing combines creativity and research. By the time you graduate, you will be able to work in many different departments and organizations. As a Commerce and Marketing student you'll learn law, accounting, calculus, management, marketing and lots of other interesting subjects. It’s a huge amount of information, but everything is useful.

Is Commerce and Marketing the right program for me?

I would recommend this program to those who see themselves in creative projects but are also ready to calculate a lot. We have a lot of mathematics and economics, which students should be prepared for.

Why study at METU?

The favorable price, the main subjects and the opportunity to study in English made METU the most suitable university for me. METU is one of the most affordable universities in EU, and students can also receive additional discounts.

Hungary is located in the center of Europe, which makes traveling easy, fast and affordable. This is important to me as I really love to travel.

I also really like how METU is an international university. By now I already have lot of friends from different parts of the world, and I can also practice the foreign languages I know, which is really cool.

Another advantage of the international environment is that the university’s employees are familiar with visa application process, adaptation difficulties, and so on. They already knew everything I needed help with and could support me in all my problems.

I love the community we have at METU, and the fact that you can always ask for support and get help immediately. I can tell people at METU are interested in my success as much as I am. Here I really started enjoying my educational process thanks to the always interesting tasks.

Favorite course

My favorite course is ‘Integrated marketing communications’, because it is extremely interesting. I can say that the teacher is a really good professional. I like the way he presents his lessons, the way he communicates with us and the information we receive from him. He is a brilliant presenter and obviously, he is really good at marketing, which it makes his subject one of the most interesting and useful one in our program.

Favorite teachers

My superhero is my Business English teacher, Michael Wallace. He taught me how to present, to act, talk and communicate well, including body language. This is one of the most useful classes I have. My English skills also increased significantly. I recommend this course to everyone I know, because the teacher makes it really special and unique. I feel happy, motivated and productive each time I attend lessons.

Dr Gabor Rekettye is also one of my favorite teachers. He and Micheal Wallace are both extremely experienced professionals. They know what they are talking about, and the way they teach us is brilliant – I can literally remember everything they say, because it is actually very interesting and useful for my career.

I also really loved my professors at the ‘Start MyBRAND and ‘Time management’ trainings. Classes were interesting and funny, and professors were understanding, respectful and polite. I enjoyed the time I spent with them.
