Student clubs 

Student clubs are a great opportunity to get involved in different activities, to develop your skills and hobbies, and to meet other students with similar interests. 

These clubs are organized by the university, but led by our students. METU has a vivid student life with wide variety of clubs: we have Movie Club, Filming Club, Photography Club, RPG Club, Cooking Club, Meditation Club and so on. 

You can try and join as many clubs as you like - you can even launch your own in our Student Club system!

METU offers numerous opportunities for sports and exercise. You can choose from numerous team sports organized by the university, or you can participate in individual activities and sports at our partner institutes.

Events and trips for international students 

METU organizes frequent programs to help new students and international students feel at home. The events and trips are a great way to make new friends and to explore Budapest and other parts of Hungary! 

• Welcome Day: At the start of each semester, we welcome our new students with an amazing Welcome Day. These days include adventure games, tasty meals and breathtaking views of Budapest from exclusive angles. Students can also meet some of the professors and faculty members – but we can promise you, there will be no talk about exams. Instead, you can expect great company, plenty of useful information and support! 

• METU on the Move: Since 2017, METU has organized a whole series of events for students. Great trips, picnics, international dinners and sporting activities are part of the program. When organizing these programs, we make sure to keep them student-budget friendly as well, so everybody has the chance to be a part of the lovely METU student community and have fun! 

Student Union 

Are you a super social person? Would you like to help others? 

Then the Student Union team is for you! 

As a member of the Student Union, you can help organize cultural events, parties, and represent the interests of fellow students - in the meanwhile, you can even gather valuable experience to your CV. 

Mentor Program

By our students, for our students. 

The mentor program has been created specifically for supporting our international newcomers. 

All new students are welcome to sign up and become a mentee. As a mentee, you will get a mentor (senior student) who will help you with your academic and personal questions.  

Becoming a part of our mentor community is also an amazing opportunity to take part in events organized by the Mentor Program, where you can have fun and make friends.
